Meet the Missionaries of God’s Love

201108 MeetSisters 150The ‘Sisterhood’ has moved into Quakers Hill in the Diocese of Parramatta. Sr Therese Mills MGL, Sr Rosie Drum MGL and Community Leader Sr Judy Bowe MGL are Sisters in a vibrant and relatively young religious order.

The Missionaries of God's Love began within the Disciples of Jesus Covenant Community in Canberra in 1986, under the guidance of Fr Ken Barker MGL. The MGL Sisters have a charismatic spirituality which through their ministry of evangelisation, with youth and the marginalised, seeks to pass on their belief in Jesus and love for the Church.

Meet the Sisters - Average age: 28

a_life_of_sisterhood_100Two representatives of one of the newest Australian religious communities of consecrated women - with an average age of 28 - will visit Perth in mid-July to let women in Perth interested in religious life know about their existence.

The Missionaries of God’s Love emerged from and remain closely involved with the Disciples of Jesus, a covenant community based in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra. There are two branches of the MGLs, one for men and the other for women.
