3 things I love about being an MGL Sister

2020.33.Three things I love about being an MGL.main blog imAGE

During National Vocations Awareness Week, Kat shares with us three things that she loves about her vocation as an MGL Sister.

  • Talking about Jesus: About a year ago, someone asked me what I liked best about being an MGL. I didn’t have to consider my answer too long!  I love talking about Jesus.  That’s whether it comes in the form of giving a talk about Jesus to a group of people, or one-on-one in spiritual direction, or those opportunities that arise (often because I’m a sister, but not always) out of ordinary conversations with ordinary people.  Jesus is my dearest friend, so it always brings me happiness to talk about Him!

  • Talking to Jesus: I love the fact that, as an MGL Sister, prayer is built into the lifestyle that I have committed to. It’s a pretty awesome privilege, in the busyness of twenty-first century life, to be able to spend a whole day each week just for prayer and time with Jesus.  And not only to start each day with an hour of adoration, but to find another hour sometime in the day to spend some more time with Him.  There’s no need to feel guilty for ‘wasting’ time on something as ‘unproductive’ as prayer – this is exactly what I am meant to be doin

  • Sharing life with others who love these things too:  It’s such a great joy to do these things together, in the company of those who share my love for Jesus and my passion for helping others to know His love.  Our sisterhood is a place where I can share my joys and my disappointments, and find understanding and acceptance alongside the challenge to live and love more fully like Jesus.
