Towards Pentecost 6: The fruit of peace

 2019.27.Towards Pentecost 6.main blog image

On Good Friday one year, back before I joined the sisters, I had an experience where I was painfully aware of my weakness. I sought refuge in Mary, asking for her help by praying the rosary. It enabled me to feel a release of warmth all over my body and peace came upon me. I felt Jesus say to me in my heart, ‘Have faith, be my witness, I will cleanse all your sins and I will be with you at all times’.

I experienced this as a moment where God was inviting me to let go, and to embrace a new life that was unknown, yet full of promise. The peace I experienced was from the Holy Spirit, as I realised that the merciful Father not only loved and forgave me, but that he also placed his trust in me too. This new stillness seemed to be engraved in my heart, giving me strength and shielding me from distractions away from where I felt God was leading me.

Novena Prayers – Day 6 – Wednesday June 5

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit, and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth.

Father, as Pentecost approaches, open my heart to the gift of the Holy Spirit. Help me to also be attentive to the presence of your Holy Spirit already with me so that my connection may be deepened in a personal, life-changing way. AMEN
